This four-weekend online course on Stage One will help you deepen and fine-tune the complex skills needed to be an advanced EFT practitioner, prepared to move couples through the Change Event of De-Escalation. Through lecture, video review, small-group discussion and extensive experiential exercises, your understanding of the model will take root.

32 CEUs provided for an additional charge of $30. (This charge will not be made until the completion of the course.)

PREREQUISITE: You must have completed an Externship and a Core Skills to take this course.

PLEASE NOTE: Attendance at all four modules of the course is necessary for completion of the course and for the awarding of any CEUs.

Stage One Course

This online course aims to deepen understanding and develop skills to better help couples heal their connection and achieve De-Escalation. We will emphasize the most up-to-date understanding of how to learn and practice EFT as described in Sue Johnson’s new book, Attachment Theory in Practice.

Additional topics covered will include:

  • idenitfying and working with the Elements of Emotion;

  • moving through the EFT Tango;

  • working with trauma in EFT;

  • working with the crisis of affair discovery;

  • working with issues of safety related to privilege and oppression, and more.

In addition to the 32 hours of class time, you will have access during the duration of the course to at least five hours of prerecorded teaching on subjects such as the Tango, Elements of Emotion, Assessment and Alliance, Working with Trauma, Affair Discovery, the Components of De-escalation, and more!

We want this to be a chance for everyone to gain confidence and skill, and to dive into the nuances of this complex work among a supportive community of fellow learners. Enrollment is limited. CEU approval underway; assuming they are approved, CEUs will be provided for those who complete the full course.
